Appointments

I missed my appointment at my new Chiropractor last Thursday ... I have an appointment tomorrow.   My necessary snow shoveling really caused some agony ... but, it had to be done.

This Thursday ... I have another appointment at the Pain Clinic; dare I hope that this procedure is making my extreme pain downgrade to annoying discomfort (from mild to severe)?

Oh, Oh ... now I did it!

 7:10 PM 2/25/2006

Somebody had to do it ... my back is threatening to get even with me .... I spent some time scooping, pushing snow.  I didn't quite finish ... but, tomorrow's another day.

My back is getting increasingly more painful.  I had hoped that a moderate workout would help me to loosen up.  WRONG!  I came inside, had some Aleve, sat down with a gin drink; just vegged out.

The main area of discomfort/pain is in my mid-back.  My lower ribs are painful & cramping.  The base of my neck, and my neck are miserable.  Just sitting & taking it easy ... why is it getting so sore & painful?

Pain-LESS?

Driving home from town today ... I pondered ... is the actual pain in my back subsiding?

Sitting in my car ... I wondered ... but, I remembered as I ever so slowly walked into the post office & up to the window, I was aware that it must be obvious that I was walking slowly & somewhat painfully up to the window.

I have an appointment for some more injections in my back next week ... also ... to the chiropractor.  I guess that I could endure being severly hampered in daily activities if the pain would subside, and be more managable.

It can be that trying to vacuum or finish the dishes will make my back insist upon an IMMEDIATE retreat to the sofa ...   I cannot even keep up with my housework!  There is no way that I could maintain my presence at a job ... I am so broke ... but, it would be ridiculous to even think of getting a job!

BETTER? ... late than never!

INSTEAD OF TRYING TO CATCH UP ON MY ENTRIES ... I should just begin making regular entries!

It seems so repetitous moaning about my pain & agony & how little I can accomplish ...

I began going to the chiropractor last week.  My medical card will pay for only 18 visits per YEAR... I cannot afford to pay for any more.

I've been to chiropractors off & on since 1976 ... was never really impressed with the results.  The best compliment I could usually say is that "It makes me feel refreshed" or "taller".

That's about the best I can say for the "facets", the injections in my back at the pain clinic ...

Like today, when I am not in extreme pain or discomfort ... it is easy to say that there has been general, lasting improvement ... MAYBE?  At any rate, it is not an impressive improvement if I can't even be sure.  It seems as tho I haven't been taking so many aspirins ....

Usually ... the best GOOD thing that I can say is that "It's not WORSE!"

I am cautiously hoping that the chiropractor has achieved some loosening of my back muscles, which always helps.

He took many x-rays; I never saw such a curly-Q in a spine before!  There are at least four problem areas, from one end of the spine to the other!

Reasons & Escuses

REASONS & EXCUSES .... for no entries lately.  The REASON began because I had computer trouble ... then ... it was setting up the new computer ... then ... it was Christmas ...

It became more of an EXCUSE ... which was ... "I'm so far behind" ... and ... a ready file was (is) on the transfer disk from my poky laptop.

I do have that file to post ... but, this is just a start on more regular entries.

This week, I began going to the chiropractor, as my friends had been nagging me to do.  After many x-rays at the first visit ... yesterday was my first session.

After previous rounds with chiropractors (or any other form of treatment), I've found very little DRAMATIC results, nor QUICK results.

I did feel "refreshed" ... but after a bit extra of catching up on housework for Maggie's impending visit this weekend ... I had to retreat to the sofa ... apply some aspirins & gin ... and also thru the nite ... and now, early in the morning ... because of severe aches & pains all over my back.  I couldn't even walk upright.

It would be helpful to keep a log to show this chiropractor, and also, the doctor at the pain clinic.
